Our adoption process is designed to be thorough yet straightforward, prioritizing the well-being of our dogs and the satisfaction of our adopters. Here’s a detailed look at our adoption process:
Step 1: Application and/or Waitlist
To begin your journey, you’ll need to fill out an application for a puppy with a $500 deposit (plus applicable fees and taxes). Of this $500, $50 is non-refundable and will cover processing your application and/or place on our waitlist.
If requesting to be waitlisted, we charge a $50 non-refundable fee for placement and processing. This fee helps ensure that only those who are serious about adopting our puppies are considered.
These fees do apply to the total adoption fee (except for processing fees and taxes).
Our application form is straightforward and designed to gather essential information about you, your home environment, and your experience with pets.
Step 2: Communication and Arrangements
Once we receive your application, we will be in touch to address any questions we or you might have and to arrange a convenient day and time for you to pick up your new puppy. We understand that every family is unique, and we strive to accommodate your schedule as much as possible.
Step 3: Special Pickup or Delivery Instructions
If you have any special instructions or requirements for picking up your puppy, we will work through these details prior to the puppies being ready to go home. If delivery is required, there will be fees for associated travel expenses.
Our goal is to make the transition as smooth and stress-free as possible for both you and your new furry friend.
Step 4: Reference Check
As part of our approval process, we will check references. This step ensures that our puppies are going to loving and responsible homes. We will gather the necessary information during this phase to complete the approval process.
Step 5: Litter Page Updates
While you wait for your puppy to be ready, we invite you to check our litter pages regularly for updated photos and information. We believe in keeping you connected to your puppy’s early days with us, allowing you to watch them grow and develop.
Step 6: Picking Up Your Puppy
When the big day arrives, you’ll pick up your puppy, who will already be microchipped, AKC registered, dewormed, and have received their early vaccinations. All these services are included in the adoption fee. We’ll also provide you with a wealth of information about the breed, puppy health, training, feeding, and supplements. Additionally, you’ll receive a small collar and leash, though we recommend upgrading to a harness soon after you bring your puppy home.
Step 7: Adoption Agreement
Finally, you’ll sign an adoption agreement that outlines our mutual responsibilities regarding spay/neuter, return policy, health guarantee, and more. This agreement helps ensure the ongoing health and happiness of your puppy and provides you with peace of mind.
